This last collection of images in the series shows the unique character of this gentle giant. A bird that is both graceful and so visually different people are stunned by the contradiction.

We hope this project has presented a little seen, or understood, neighbor that is in need of a little help at times.

Immediately the wings of a Wood Stork catch your attention. Primary feathers are long and black with a green tint. A striking thick white cape covers their shoulders. The wing span can be 5.5 feet (1.6 m) in length.

In the wild a low flying Wood Stork can be heard long before you see them. The air turbulence makes a distinct and loud sound.
